A Love Letter To Rose 🌹

I’ve always been so drawn to rose scents, especially when they come with a bit of a twist! They can sometimes be seen as quite dated or even a little old fashioned, but there are so many beautiful modern fragrances now that completely change that perception. In this edit, I’m sharing some of my favourite rose finds across perfume, candles and lip products. 🌹✨

Rainbow Rose – Bibbi

This is one of my newer favourites and it’s just stunning and it really lasts! It like a soft, velvety rose, really elegant but still modern. It opens with pink freesia and magnolia, which give it a fresh, slightly airy floral feel, before settling into a beautiful rose and skin musk heart. Then cashmere woods and smooth ambroxan adds warmth and a cosy vibe. Such a lovely take on rose that I can’t get enough of. This is also available in travel size which is so handy!

Eau Rose – Diptyque

Eau Rose is a staple in my collection, it’s such a fresh, dewy take on rose that never feels too much. The soft, subtly fruit scent just makes it feel so pretty to wear. There’s a slight lift from blackcurrant and bergamot, then settles with cedar, musk and a touch of honey that gives a little warmth that helps it last beautifully on the skin.

Rose 31 – La Labo

Built around Grasse rose, known for its rich, slightly honeyed quality, Rose 31 feels beautifully airy, but grounded by spicy, woody notes that give it a much deeper edge. A touch of amber softens everything, adding a subtle warmth . It’s very long-wearing, lingers beautifully throughout the day and always seems to receive so many compliments!

Portrait of a Lady – Frédéric Malle

There is nothing quite like this! It’s such a sexy, rich rose fragrance and honestly one I think everyone should try – it’s iconic for a reason. The rose feels deep and luxurious, a beautiful Turkish rose blended with incense and patchouli, giving it that signature dark, slightly smoky edge. It has an opulent and syrupy rose quality, but the woody and spicy notes bring real sophistication, making it feel bold and powerful without being overwhelming. Definitely one of my go-to scents when I want something a little more dramatic and unforgettable. It’s the kind of scent that has to really suit your mood and personality. I know a few people who always wear this as their signature for years and it just fits them so perfectly! It’s so memorable and one of the very best.

Rose of No Man’s Land – Byredo

This was my first Byredo scent and I love it so much! It was hooked on the first spritz and wore it daily for years. The rose feels soft and airy, lifted by raspberry and pink pepper which adds a brightness but not at all overly sweet. It settles with white amber and papyrus wood that bring a gentle warmth and a slightly earthy elegance that keeps it feeling really balanced. It’s a gorgeous everyday fragrance that lingers beautifully all day. I also love the hand cream!

Rose Whip – Phlur

Like all Phlur fragrances, Rose Whip is totally addictive. It’s a really unique, softer take on rose… It’s feminine, but in a modern, effortless way. The rose is complemented by blackcurrant, which adds a subtle sweetness, while osmanthus brings that moreish, slightly creamy softness that makes the floral feel smoother and more rounded. As it settles, amber, cashmere wood and musk create a warm, skin-like finish that feels so intimate.

Elisabethan Rose – Penhaligon’s

Elizabethan Rose is such a classic, in the most decorative bottle! It’s a really beautiful, floral fragrance that feels effortlessly elegant. It blends rose centifolia with hazelnut leaf and vetiver, giving it a soft, fresh rose with a subtle, slightly nutty edge. This is the kind of fragrance that feels very graceful and put-together and the bottle reflects that perfectly too… So refined and timeless.

À La Rose – Maison Francis Kurkdjian

This is such a fresh, radiant take on rose and one I always come back to! It feels light, airy and just so pretty. With citrus and delicate florals lifting the rose it keeps the scent feeling clean and modern. It’s not heavy at all, just beautifully balanced and easy to wear. It’s one of those fragrances that feels super feminine, uplifting and perfect for everyday when you want something soft but still noticeable.

On a Date – Maison Margiela

I love the Replica line by Maison Margiela – each fragrance is designed to capture a specific moment or memory, and this really does feel like that perfect date night scent. It has a beautiful balance of soft and slightly fruity notes, with rose and blackcurrant giving it that sun-warmed feel, while woody notes and musk add a gentle depth. It’s captivating and very romantic.

100% – Balenciaga

I tried this recently and thought it was so interesting. Not like any other rose scent I’ve experience before as it really lets the rose take centre stage, but in a clean, slightly green way. As it wears, it definitely softens into something fresh and delicate. The Rosa Damascena gives it that rich, classic rose feel, but there’s an edge that makes it feel so unique.

Rose Rouge – Van Cleef & Arpels

This is such a rich, indulgent take on rose, perfect for gourmand scent lovers, with a warm, slightly sweet feel. The rose is blended with fruity and slightly sugary notes, giving it that almost candied, velvety feel, which is so gorgeous! While warm undertones add depth and softness as it wears. It’s smooth, elegant and very addictive!

Rose Gourmand – Zara

This is such a beautiful, affordable find, especially if you love sweeter rose scents. It’s another one for the gourmand fans. The rose is blended with vanilla and soft amber, giving it that creamy, dessert like quality while still keeping a floral touch. It feels cosy, smooth and moreish, making it so easy to wear. A really lovely everyday option for a soft, indulgent feel without the luxury price tag.

Candles

Filthy Rose – Velvet Smoke

This is signature scent of my house, it really is the most stunning scent and somehow fills the space even when it’s not lit. It’s such a sexy take on rose, with a contrast between a soft, velvety floral and a deeper, more leathery, smoky edge. It feels rich and glamorous and I’m obsessed with the reusable jars and it’s available in a dreamy bath soak.

Illumination Rose – Ostens

This instantly creates the most inviting atmosphere. Ostens is known for focusing on high quality, single note ingredients and here the scent centres around a beautiful Turkish rose. It’s incredibly cosy but luxurious and elegant at the same time.

Roses – Diptyque

Think of a fresh bouquet of roses in full bloom… This is exactly that. It’s fresh and clean, then softens into something more velvety and delicate as it burns, it’s absolutely gorgeous. I also love the larger pink vessel, it feels like a beautiful ornament and can be used for actual roses once it’s finished. 🌹

Lips

Loveshine Plumping Lip Oil Gloss –  YSL

These lip glosses are one of my go-to’s! They are super hydrating and really do give the lips that fuller, plumper look while still feeling lightweight and comfortable to wear. The shade Nude Lavallière is such a beautiful sheer rosy pink-nude, it’s really flattering, fresh and looks gorgeous over lipstick or worn by itself.

Dream Lip Oil – Summer Fridays

The shade Rose Bud is such a beautiful, sheer cool toned pink that gives the lips the prettiest soft rosy tint. It applies like an absolute dream, with a mirror-like glossy finish and buildable colour. It’s also packed with moisturising plant-based oils and hydrating collagen, so always leaves the lips soft and nourished.

Gloss Bomb – Fenty Beauty

This is one of my favourites! The shade Riri is such a gorgeous shimmering rose-mauve, with soft dusty tones that looks so flattering on the lips. The formula feels really cushiony and smooth, with that signature delicious scent Fenty glosses always have! It also has a beautiful multi-dimensional shimmer that gives the lips a glossy, almost 3D effect without ever feeling glittery or gritty. It’s such a pretty gloss for that soft rosy lip look.

Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm – Rare Beauty

The shade Nearly Rose is such a pretty, slightly warm-toned rosy pink that gives the lips the loveliest soft wash of colour. It has a jelly-like glossy finish that makes the lips look really fresh and healthy. The formula almost feels like a lip mask as it’s super cushioning and nourishing while still giving that ultra-shiny finish

Gloss Embrace Lip Gloss – Lisa Eldridge

Lisa Eldridge glosses are honestly so beautiful and the shade Dancing Rose is so stunning. It’s a cool-toned iridescent gloss with soft rose, lavender and violet reflects running through it, giving the lips the prettiest multi-dimensional shine. The formula is sheer rather than heavily pigmented, so it creates a sparkling, glassy finish that catches the light beautifully.

Posh Gloss – Victoria Beckham Beauty

The shade Fizz is such a beautiful neutral-cool rose mauve that instantly makes the lips look polished and put together. The formula glides on so smoothly and has that important non sticky finish, it’s just so comfortable and moisturising. The colour is so flattering too and the pigment is amazing!
